History and Adventures Are All Around You
Never a dull moment when you stay at Hidden Valley RV Park
What’s to do? Everything! The very first thing any newcomer to Von Ormy or San Antonio must do is visit the Alamo. So, hop in the car and go!
The Alamo
Originally a mission and fortress built by Roman Catholic missionaries in the 18th century, it was renamed the Alamo (Poplar Tree) and served as a stronghold for Texas rebels in their struggle to gain independence from Mexico. Although the rebels were outnumbered and lost the battle that day in 1836, the Texans were soon victorious in the Battle of San Jacinto. Discover the pivotal point in Texas’ history when you tour the chapel, the barracks, and the museum. See weapons, paintings, and memorabilia. Learn why every American knows the slogan, ‘Remember the Alamo!’

San Antonio Missions
Besides the Alamo, Spanish missionaries built four more frontier missions to encourage Native Americans to convert to Christianity. The Riverwalk has beautiful tropical plants all around – you’ll feel beautiful too!
