San Antonio Family Attractions: Low Cost or Free
On our “Ask Us” Pinterest page we recently had a request for ideas on
what to do in San Antonio with kids that’s free or close to free. Here’s a list of several activities for families, kids and
visitors to San Antonio that won’t break the bank and will keep the kids
happy. There are several that kids of ANY age can take advantage of.

- The Alamo and the Historic Missions— Free admission, always.
- San Antonio Shoe Factory — free tours and a great family friendly reminder of a simpler past and the making of a great pair of shoes.
- Traders Villiage — the ultimate Flea Market, weekends…get a half price carnival rides pass with coupon at link.
- Toyota Factory Tours — always free but reservations are required and spots fill up pretty quickly. Ask us at the office to secure reservations for you when you reserve your RV site or call the factory at 210-263-4002
- Medina River Natural Area — always free and great site for hiking trails, beautiful river views and bicycling paths
- The Riverwalk — of course the Riverwalk is always free and full of wildlife viewing opportunities, kayaking on the Mission Reach area and much more. The link will take you to a website to learn about the inexpensive river cruises available daily.
- Astro Super Bowl and Bandera Bowling Center — Free bowling for kid
- Barnes & Noble — Free summer reading program
- Half Price Books — Free summer reading program for kids 14 & under
- Slab Cinema Movies— Movies By Moonlight free for ALL on several nights in July & August
- Institute of Texan Cultures — Buy One Get One admission with coupon code
- Regal Cinemas — $1 summer movies for families, Tues & Wed’s at 10am
- The DoSeum, SA’s Kids Museum — Free DoSeum Tote Bag with purchase of two tickets & code
- San Antonio Public Library — Free events calendar (includes summer story-times, craft times, and teen events)
- Morgan’s Wonderland — an amusement park that includes special needs kids in on the fun. Low to zero admission free for kids and discounted adult admission with coupon code.
- San Antonio Zoo— See the admission prices on the SA zoo website and get a cpn code here.
- Santikos Theatres — Free summer movies for families, Tues & Wed at 10am
- The Briscoe Western Museum — Get free admission and parking with the Tuesday evening deal or Save $2 off admission with coupon code
- Sea World — Discount coupons available with coupon code
- Six Flags Fiesta Texas — Four different discount deals with coupon codes at the link
- Splashtown — Save $5 off admission with coupon code at link
- The Witte Museum — Free admission Tuesday nights; save $2 per ticket buying online for any other day
- Get the coupons and codes for many of the above and more in a pdf. If you don’t have a printer handy, we’ll be glad to print them out for you at the office or assist you in getting and printing tickets to any of the attractions online.
Also, for all Tuesday evening activities downtown, take advantage of Simple. Free. Parking and the Free E evening bus line
Downtown Tuesday offers parking at city-operated parking garages,
parking lots and parking meters every Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 2
a.m. In addition to free parking, the city has partnered with dozens of
local businesses to provide specials and discounts.
